******News Alert Concerning Terry Hershey Park Incident******

Attempted Abduction/Terry Hershey Park Trail on 2/19/12, incident happened at approximately 4:20 p.m.
It was reported that an 11 yr old girl was riding her bike on the paved section of the Trail near Dairy Ashford.She was traveling eastbound and was approx. 2 miles east of Dairy Ashford. She stopped in the wooded area near the benches for some water. A male sitting on the north side bench came up to her, grabbed her handle bar and said, "come on". She girl was able to ride away. She had been riding with her family, but had gotten separated by a few minutes.
The male was seen leaving on foot traveling westbound and was described as a white male , well tanned. He appeared to be in his late teens to early twenties. Approximately 5'8" to 5'10" tall, weight around 120 lb. (very thin). He had medium length, straight brown hair. Slight beard, greenish eyes, no glasses. He did not speak with an accent. He was wearing a black pullover t-shirt and blue jeans. No visible tattoos or marks. He was wearing a gold earring in his right ear that looked like a winged dragon or winged snake.
The Constable's office asked that this information be passed along to residents in the area. And to be careful riding alone or letting children out of your sight on the trails.
Report anything suspicious to their office immediately.

******Important New Message***** CHARTING BUFFALO BAYOU MEETINGS

Information has just come in from the Harris County Flood District that all scheduled meetings regarding the Buffalo Bayou project have been cancelled at this time.
This is the message from the HCFD:
In light of compelling issues regarding the presentation of certain concepts in the Charting Buffalo draft report, the Harris County Flood Control District is in the process of modifying the report. The District is suspending the report's distribution, review period and all scheduled community meetings until further notice.
Registration for the remaining community meetings is now closed. If you have previously shared event information with your contact, please let them know that these meetings have been cancelled. We appreciate your interest in the study.
