Greetings Fleetwood Residents,
Your newly elected Board had their first meeting on February 13, 2012. The second page of this newsletter lists names, job assignments and contact information for each of your Board members. I would like to personally thank the retired Board members that served the Fleetwood community and our Association so well: Oren Clark, Charles Menefee, Bob Miesen and Phyllis Weller. You have our heartfelt thanks and gratitude for your time and effort.
As with any “first meeting,” the new Board spent considerable time discussing our goals for the coming year and our desire to make Fleetwood a premier community to call home. We face many challenges and ask each and every one of you to be understanding, communicate your ideas and concerns and most importantly become involved. Here is a general list of concerns we feel require immediate attention:
- Finalize all aspects of the Memorial wall project.
- Address the drainage issues within Fleetwood.
- Rewrite our Association’s By-Laws to make them more efficient, protect the interests of the property owners better and to comply with the new Texas state laws as they pertain to homeowner associations.
- Improve and promote the Fleetwood website www.fleetwoodpoa.com.
- Deal with Association’s delinquencies in a timely and fair manner.
- Address the ongoing deterioration of our streets and alleys.
There are many other projects this Board will address as the year progresses and will be made known to you in a timely manner. As President of your Association I promise that the Board will operate in an open and transparent manner and make every effort to communicate to you the major issues that will or could affect the property owners of Fleetwood. We ask that you do the same so we can efficiently and effectively serve your needs.
In closing, I would ask you to check the association’s website (www.fleetwoodpoa.com) on a regular basis for updated information. We intend to place frequent updates about projects that will be going on during the year. The newsletter is only published six times a year but Board actions are ongoing.
Your Board intends to earn your trust and support and you will find listed contact information for all of your Board members. This will help foster open communication between homeowners and your Board members. I pledge to you all efforts will be made to answer all phone calls and emails sent to us. We all look forward to serving the needs of Fleetwood and making it a great place to live!
